October 12th to 14th, 20120 2 day in-field workshop $295 Lake Tahoe Photography Workshop

Lake Tahoe is one of the most beautiful and photogenic lakes in the United States.  Known for it's pristine blue water, beautiful overlooks and many unique bolder formations Lake Tahoe is an idea location to for a photography workshop.  Join me for a photography weekend in one of my favorite locations, Lake Tahoe!   I've been visiting Lake Tahoe since I was a child, it was a favorite family vacation spot and one that I've continued to come back to and photograph ever since.  Weather it's the beautiful morning reflections off the water of Emerald Bay or the unique trees growing out of boulders we'll photograph the best and most beautiful places the area has to offer.   In addition to the abundance of photographic subjects Lake Tahoe is also filled with wonderful art galleries, shopping and wonderful restaurants and you'll have plenty of time to explore it all.  I know some of the best places to find the best images and I'm willing to share. I hope you'll join me for what will be a wonderful experience of learning, creation and camaraderie during this one-of-a-kind photography workshop.

What You'll Need:
  • Digital or Film SLR Camera
  • Sturdy Tripod
  • Lens covering a range of at least 28mm to 300mm
  • A selections of filters (Polarizer, Grad ND, ND)
  • A flashlight or headlamp
  • Your camera manual

Skill Level: Intermediate to Advanced - Participates should have a good working knowledge of how to operate their camera in manual mode. In addition having a good knowledge of stops, shutter speeds and f/stops will allow you to focus your attention on creativity and creating high quality images.

WHAT TO EXPECT: A typical day will start early, with a sunrise session at one of our beautiful shooting locations.  After sunrise we will continue photographing until breakfast which we will enjoy as a group at one of the many wonderful area resturants  We will then visit an area gallery or two for inspiration and to anaylse what makes a sucessful images before our daily break to rest, process images or futher explore the town of Lake Tahoe.  We'll meet again in the afternoon for discusssion, print sharing and lesson before heading out for our sunset shoot.  We'll end the days with a group dinner before heading back for some much needed rest before we start all over again bright and early the next morning.  While the days are long they're filled with one-on-one instruction and critique sessions that you can apply immediately in the field.

Lodging and meals are not included with the workshop, however a local lodging guide and recommendations are included in the workshop's workbook that you'll receive after sign-up.
