Fine Art Landscape Photography and WorkshopsFall 2011 Autumn is perhaps my favorite season, the long hot days of summer have started to cool down and the beautiful shades of yellow and orange begin to appear on trees everywhere you look. I recently returned from my annual Fall Colors in the Eastern Sierras workshop and I'm as energized as ever to continue to explore new places and create new images. The workshop was wonderful and the area along California's highway 395 is as beautiful as ever as it displays perhaps the most incredible display of color in the western United States, I'm already looking forward to the 2012 workshop. As the coming weeks progress I'll be traveling as much as possible with a trip planned to Yosemite, Arches and Canyonland national parks and perhaps even Zion National Park. If you're in one of these area and see me on the trail be sure to say hello.
The above image is my newest Fine Art photography print to be released, Morning Storm over Grand Teton. I created the image in June of 2011 during my most recent trip to Wyoming and Grand Teton National Park. I spotted this very picturesque wood fence while scouting locations prior to my Spring in Grand Teton photography workshop for and thought it would be a wonderful place to come back to for some personal work when I had a chance. My final morning was finally the opportunity I was looking for to get out and create a new image. I woke at 3:30am in ensure that I was on location and found the perfect composition before the first rays of sun shown themselves. The morning was beautiful with the dramatic clouds cover the Teton Range making for a wonderful image opportunity, however the skies to the east (where the sun was coming up) were covered in much thicker cloud cover which didn't allow for much color to show in the sky above the peaks. Taking a moment to re-group I decided that this would be a perfect opportunity for black and white! I took a few minutes to re-visualize the image for black and white tones and started to create the image. Morning Storm over Grand Teton is available in sizes from 11×14 to 30×40 and would make the perfect compliment to any home or office decor. Purchasing information can be found here. A photographer's paradise, Yosemite covered in snow is a stunning sight to see and the opportunity to create tremendous images are literally around every corner. My next landscape photography workshop, Winter in Yosemite, takes place February 10th thru 12th 2012 and there is still a few spaces available! We'll photograph in the most awe inspiring locations Yosemite Valley has to offer and perhaps even experience the famous "Fire Falls" that appear only during this short period in which the workshop is scheduled. This is a winter color photography workshop not to be missed! In addition to the beautiful locations we'll be shooting, the middle of the days will be used for discussions, lessons and print sharing in an informal classroom setting. I keep the workshops very small, usually no more than 8 participates, so I can give personal attention to everyone. As always, one of my goals for the workshops is to make them available for everyone and to fit everyone's budget. I truly believe that these are the best workshops available. If you'd like more information regarding my upcoming photography workshops please check out the workshop page of my website. There you can find both general information regarding the workshops or specific information on each. I hope you'll join me for what is going to be a fantastic workshop one of the most beautiful areas of California. **Upcoming 2012 California, Wyoming and Arizona Photography Workshops, Yosemite, Grand Teton, Big Sur Coast and Lake Powell**
